About this role
X-Force Engineering Limited is seeking an Inventory/Store Officer to manage the receipt, storage, issuance and recording of materials, equipment, tools and consumables across its Abuja project sites. The role requires understanding of construction and civil engineering materials to correctly identify, verify quality and store stock. It is suited to candidates with hands-on experience in inventory management within construction or infrastructure environments.
What you would do
- Receive, inspect and verify all incoming materials and equipment against purchase orders, delivery notes and project specifications, and reject non-conforming items.
- Record all stock movements on the same day in the inventory system, with complete documentation to support receipts, issuances, returns and write-offs.
- Conduct regular stock checks including daily spot counts, weekly cycle counts and monthly inventories, and reconcile findings with system records.
- Monitor minimum stock levels and reorder points for critical materials, and raise requisitions to the Procurement Manager when thresholds are reached.
- Maintain the store in a clean, safe, organised state, label and categorise items, store them in designated locations and manage stock on a FIFO basis.
- Enforce store access controls and ensure every material issuance is supported by a completed MRN, maintaining records to prevent unauthorised removals.
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering Technology, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Desirable professional certification in Supply Chain Management, Stores Management or Procurement (e.g., CIPS Foundation or equivalent CIPMN-recognised qualification).
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in inventory, stores or materials management, preferably in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
- Practical knowledge of construction materials, including reinforcement bars, structural steel, cement, aggregates, pipes and fittings, formwork and site consumables.
- Experience managing stock records manually and/or using inventory management software or ERP systems.
- Experience conducting physical stock counts, reconciling variances, and preparing stock reports, with experience in a health, safety and environment (HSE) conscious construction environment.
