Inventory Manager - Jumia (Full Time)

About this role

Jumia is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead inventory operations at its fulfilment centre. The role involves managing stock receiving, storage, counting and tracking, and leading a team of inventory associates while working with cross-functional teams to ensure stock availability and timely order fulfilment.

What you would do

• Oversee all aspects of inventory management within the fulfilment centre, including receiving, storing, counting and tracking stock to ensure accuracy and availability.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimise accuracy, minimise shrinkage and reduce carrying costs while meeting service requirements.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with Purchasing, Sales and Operations to optimise replenishment and meet operational needs.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.
• Utilise inventory management systems (IMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track movements and generate reports on KPIs for management.
• Lead and develop a team of inventory associates, providing guidance and training to ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field; Master's degree or certification in inventory management is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations or supply chain management, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, practices and systems; experience implementing inventory control procedures and best practices in a fast-paced distribution or fulfilment centre environment.
• Proficiency in using inventory management systems (IMS), warehouse management systems (WMS) and related technology tools for tracking, reporting and analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, identify trends and develop insights to optimise inventory performance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with team members, management and stakeholders at all levels; flexible to work variable shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
