Inventory Manager

About this role

An Inventory Manager is needed to lead operations at Jumia Nigeria’s fulfilment centre, ensuring stock accuracy, availability and cost efficiency. What you would do

• Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory management within the fulfilment centre, including receiving, storing, counting and tracking inventory levels.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures, policies and best practices to optimise accuracy, minimise shrinkage and reduce carrying costs while meeting customer service requirements.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels and collaborate with Purchasing, Sales and Operations to optimise stock replenishment strategies.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories and reconciliations; investigate root causes and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
• Utilise inventory management systems (IMS) and related tools to track movements, monitor stock levels and generate KPI reports for management review.
• Lead and develop a team of inventory associates; provide guidance, support and training to ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field; Master's degree or certification in inventory management is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations or supply chain management, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, practices and systems; experience implementing inventory control procedures in fast-paced distribution or fulfilment centre environments.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems (IMS), warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools for inventory tracking, reporting and analysis.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with team members, management and stakeholders at all levels.
• Results-oriented with a focus on delivering outcomes and continuous improvement; ability to work independently and as part of a team; willingness to work variable shifts (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) as needed.
