Internal Auditor

Ellasot Consulting in Lagos is seeking an Internal Auditor. The role involves reviewing the company’s financial and operational activities, assessing internal controls and risks, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong auditing and analytical abilities with a solid grounding in accounting principles suitable for evaluating financial transactions and processes.

What you would do

• Conduct regular internal audits of financial, operational, administrative and credit activities
• Review financial transactions, expenses, payments, reconciliations and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper authorisation
• Audit loan disbursement, repayment, collection and recovery processes for compliance with approved procedures
• Review bank transactions, cash management, customer accounts and other financial records
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify control gaps, risks and potential financial loss
• Prepare clear audit reports highlighting findings, risks and recommendations for corrective action

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or a related discipline
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, risk, compliance or a related field
• Experience in banking, microfinance, lending, financial services or a similar industry is an advantage
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA or ACA is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing procedures and internal control systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
