Internal Auditor

About this role

An Internal Auditor role with Domeo Resources International (DRI), based in Abia. The position involves conducting regular audits of the hotel’s financial and operational activities, reviewing revenue and controls, and reporting findings to management.

What you would do

• Conduct regular internal audits of the hotel's financial and operational activities.
• Review revenue transactions across departments such as Rooms, Food & Beverage, Events and other revenue streams.
• Reconcile revenue reports with Finance records and verify data from Front Office, Restaurant, Bar, and Events.
• Review purchasing, inventory, payroll and expenditure to ensure proper authorisation and controls.
• Identify fraud risks, investigate irregularities and prepare management findings.
• Prepare audit reports, maintain working papers, and follow up on corrective actions.

What they are asking for

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting or financial control.
• Previous experience in hotel, hospitality, restaurant or service-based organisation advantageous.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, audit procedures and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with accounting software, hotel PMS, POS is an advantage.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA or ACA is an added advantage.
