Intern Accounting Officer

A role for an intern in accounting at Hope Spring Community Humanitarian Initiative, based in Borno. The position supports basic financial tasks within the NGO’s accounting system and assists with day-to-day financial processes and reporting. It is aimed at individuals currently studying or who have recently completed a relevant degree or diploma. What you would do

• Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system
• Assist with bank and account reconciliations
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and basic financial reports
• Process accounts payable and receivable under supervision
• Maintain filing of financial documents (digital and physical)
• Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
• Support preparation for audits, tax filings or regulatory returns
• Help update the general ledger and chart of accounts as directed
• Perform data entry and basic analysis using Excel or accounting software
• Contribute to process improvement and ad-hoc finance projects
