Instrument Tubing Fitter
About this role
SPIE Global Services Energy is seeking an Instrument Tubing Fitter for the Bonga Offshore Project in Lagos, Nigeria. The role involves installing, routing and terminating instrument tubing, fabricating runs and assembling fittings, and conducting tests, with coordination across trades to meet project specifications. Suitable for candidates with 8–10 years of hands-on electrical construction experience on oil and gas EPC projects, including 4–5 years in a supervisory role, preferably with offshore exposure.
What you would do
- Interpret and work from P&IDs and drawings for tubing installation.
- Install, route, support and terminate instrument tubing.
- Fabricate tubing runs by measuring, cutting, bending and assembling to drawings.
- Install and connect tube fittings and associated accessories.
- Perform leak, pressure, pneumatic or hydrostatic testing and address defects.
- Coordinate with other trades and assist QA/QC.
What they are asking for
- HND or BSc in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Technology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent vocational training with relevant field experience.
- 8–10 years hands-on electrical construction experience on oil and gas EPC projects, with at least 4–5 years in a supervisory role covering cable tray installation and cable routing.
- Offshore platforms, FPSOs or deepwater project experience is an advantage.
- Key technical competencies include instrument tubing installation and fabrication, tube bending, fittings, instrument hook-up, stainless steel tubing, pneumatic and hydraulic tubing, and testing.
- Reading P&IDs and instrument hook-up drawings; QA/QC inspection requirements; permit-to-work and HSE compliance; ability to work at height and in confined/offshore environments.
- Preferred certifications: CompEx or equivalent hazardous area certification; Working at Height; Confined Space Entry.
