Instrument and Control Technician
About this role
An offshore-focused Instrument and Control Technician role for Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited, based in Lagos, requiring hands-on experience in maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and testing of instrumentation and control systems on offshore facilities. The position targets candidates with strong offshore oil and gas technical background and relevant certifications or degrees.
What you would do
- Identify defects or abnormal conditions and escalate as needed
- Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment
- Maintain calibration certificates, maintenance records and technical documentation
- Inspect hazardous-area instrumentation for compliance
- Maintain and troubleshoot analyzers, control valves, actuators and positioners
- Diagnose and rectify faults in PLC, ESD, F&G and process-control systems and carry out loop checks and commissioning
What they are asking for
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering or related field
- 8–12 years of relevant oil and gas experience with strong upstream E&P exposure
- Hands-on experience in instrumentation and control maintenance in offshore or production environments
- Certifications such as CompEx, ISA, City & Guilds or equivalents (desirable)
- BOSIET/HUET and offshore medical certification where applicable
- Strong knowledge of hazardous-area systems, field instrumentation, PLC/ESD/F&G systems and reliability maintenance
