About this role
The Indirect Taxation Analyst provides strategic advisory and compliance support on indirect taxes across all Company entities, focusing on VAT, WHT, staff income taxes, tax audits, regulatory engagement and indirect tax matters arising from contracts and commercial transactions. The role works with internal teams and with tax authorities to ensure compliance, timely filings and minimised exposure.
What you would do
- Provide strategic indirect tax advice to Company entities and business functions on contracts, transactions and projects with tax implications.
- Collaborate with Legal, Contracts & Procurement, Finance, Accounting, HR and Technical teams on tax matters.
- Review tax clauses in contracts and advise on compliant and commercially sound terms.
- Maintain and update the Indirect Tax Matrix in line with changes in tax legislation, regulations and fiscal policies.
- Supervise the preparation and timely filing of VAT and WHT returns.
- Support staff income tax compliance and statutory filing deadlines.
What they are asking for
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation or related discipline, or an equivalent qualification, with at least six years' post-graduation experience in tax, accounting or related functions.
- Professional accounting or tax certification such as ICAN or ACCA is required.
- Strong experience in Nigerian tax compliance and indirect taxation.
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian Federal and State tax laws.
- Knowledge of tax treaties and multilateral tax agreements is an advantage.
- Experience dealing with government tax authorities, regulatory bodies and external auditors is desirable.
