In-House Accountant
About this role
An in-house accountant role based in Lekki, Lagos for a growing cosmetics and skin-health business. The position reports to the Managing Director and Operations Lead and requires hands-on accounting, strong internal controls and reliable financial reporting.
What you would do
- Record daily business transactions and maintain complete accounting records
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and follow up on payments
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Conduct bank, POS, and payment reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Reconcile inventory records and monitor stock accuracy and valuation
- Support tax compliance and maintain documentation for audits and reviews
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Two to four years of hands-on accounting experience
- Proficiency in an accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Sage)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and data analysis ability
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable and inventory accounting
- Experience in retail/product-based business is a plus
