ShogxyPro Outsourcing in Lagos is looking for an Import Officer to join its Procurement and Supply Chain team in Ikeja. The role involves handling end-to-end import operations, coordinating with international suppliers, freight forwarders and warehouse teams. The officer will prepare and manage trade documentation and liaise with customs and regulatory bodies to clear cargo while monitoring costs and lead times. The company provides HR and talent solutions for various organisations, from startups to large enterprises, and seeks someone with relevant import and logistics experience. The position is full-time and reports to the Supply Chain / Procurement Manager.
What you would do
- Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders and warehouse teams for timely receipt of materials
- Manage the import cycle from purchase orders to final delivery and resolve delays
- Prepare and manage trade documents (PAAR, SONCAP, Bills of Lading, Form M, Customs Clearance, Permits)
- Coordinate with customs agents, shipping lines and regulatory bodies for cargo clearance
- Monitor duties, taxes, demurrage and freight charges to minimise costs
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and internal procedures
- Assist in improving lead times and cost controls within the supply chain
- Support documentation and data entry in ERP and Excel as required
- Maintain accurate records of import transactions and status updates
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimise processes
What they are asking for
- 3–5 years experience handling import documentation, customs clearance and logistics in Nigeria
- Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG or Commodities is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms and customs duty calculations
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel
- BSc/HND in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics or related field
