Import and Export Specialist

What you would do

• Coordinate all international trade operations for inbound imports and outbound exports
• Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance for shipments
• Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs brokers, and warehouses
• Work with internal teams to achieve timely movement of goods
• Maintain accurate records and monitor logistics risks
• Support process improvements to optimise import/export cycles
• Communicate effectively with vendors and stakeholders
• Prepare reports and presentations as required
• Contribute to adherence to company policies and standards
• Assist in fast-tracking documentation and clearance where possible

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
• Master's degree in a related field is an advantage
• Partial or full membership of a professional body (e.g., CILSCM)
• At least 5 years’ experience in import and export operations
• Strong knowledge of import/export processes, transportation regulations, and operations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills
• Detail-oriented with focus on quality and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of handling agrochemicals and agro-commodities is desirable
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting
• Detailed knowledge of Nigeria import/export processes and documentation steps
