Hygiene Promotion Officer

About this role

A Hygiene Promotion Officer is needed to plan and implement hygiene promotion, behaviour change and community engagement activities within LPF’s humanitarian and development programmes in Borno. The role involves working with the WASH team, community volunteers and local stakeholders to improve hygiene practices and reduce waterborne and sanitation-related diseases, including education and messaging tailored to affected populations.

What you would do

• Plan and implement hygiene promotion plans and community engagement strategies
• Conduct hygiene promotion activities in communities, facilities, schools and displacement sites
• Deliver hygiene education sessions using appropriate methods and materials
• Organise awareness campaigns, group discussions, demonstrations and household visits
• Coordinate with WASH and health teams to align promotion with water, sanitation and health interventions
• Support training and guidance for community hygiene promoters and volunteers
