Human Rights and Litigation Lawyer
About this role
Permanent Capital Ventures Limited seeks an experienced Human Rights and Litigation Lawyer in Lagos. The role focuses on handling litigation across human rights, public interest, banking and commercial disputes, with responsibilities from case inception to trial and possible appeal. The firm engages in strategic litigation, pro bono initiatives, and provides client advice on litigation risks and dispute resolution. Candidates must be qualified Nigerian legal practitioners with substantial hands-on trial experience and strong research and advocacy skills. The position is full-time with a monthly salary between N350,000 and N400,000.
What you would do
- Identify opportunities for strategic litigation and contribute to public interest and pro bono work
- Handle banking, debt recovery, contractual and other commercial disputes
- Advise clients on litigation risks, remedies, and dispute resolution strategies
- Manage litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal where needed
- Conduct legal research, develop litigation strategies, prepare witnesses and evidence, and present cases in court
- Manage case files, monitor court processes and deadlines, and provide progress reports
- Conduct human rights and public interest litigation, including enforcement of fundamental rights and access to justice
- Draft pleadings, applications, written addresses, legal opinions, and other court documents

- Demonstrable experience handling human rights, public interest, banking and/or commercial litigation
