Human Resources Officer for ECOWAS in Abuja. The role supports the Office of the Auditor General by managing general HR duties in line with ECOWAS Staff Regulations and established best practices, reporting to the Principal Officer, Internal Services. It covers HR strategy, recruitment, salary and benefits administration, performance management, training, and personnel records governance.
What you would do
- Contribute to development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with the Office's mandate
- Advise management on HR policies, procedures and workforce planning initiatives
- Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, including vacancy announcements, screening and onboarding
- Administer staff salaries, allowances, benefits and entitlements
- Oversee the performance management system, monitor appraisal timelines and provide guidance on evaluations
- Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programmes, including annual training plans and budgets
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Law, Social Sciences or related field from a recognised institution
- Master's degree in HRM or related field and/or professional HR certification would be an added advantage
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in HR management including training, recruitment, performance management, change management, manpower planning, salary policy, pension administration, terms and conditions of employment, monitoring, analytics and reporting
- Experience in a HR generalist role would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of ECOWAS regulations, procedures and policies; knowledge of ECOWAS internal operational requirements and familiarity with ERP systems and HR data management
- Age below 45 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.
