About this role
The Human Resources Manager will lead the full range of HR activities to support Africa Law Practice's people strategy and organisational culture. This on-site, full-time role in Lagos covers recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee engagement, plus policy development, compliance with Nigerian labour laws and HR reporting.
What you would do
- Develop a People & Culture strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and retention activities.
- Manage performance appraisal processes and development plans.
- Oversee compensation, benefits and HR information systems.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and administer HR policies and employee relations.
- Monitor HR metrics and support change management and employee engagement initiatives.

- Strong ability to develop HR policies, ensure Nigerian labour law compliance and maintain HR documentation and reporting.
- Experience delivering training and development programmes, and supporting organisational learning.
- Experience with compensation and benefits administration, payroll coordination and HR data management using HRIS tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict-resolution skills; ability to work with diverse teams and senior leadership; drive employee engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration or a related field; professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM) is required; eight years of progressive HR experience including at least three in a senior role, preferably in professional services, legal or consulting environments.
