Human Resources (HR) Officer

About this role

Brent Mortgage Bank Limited is seeking a full-time Human Resources Officer for its Lagos Island location. The role supports staff recruitment, training, onboarding, record keeping and various HR processes in a financial sector context. It involves coordinating inductions, maintaining employee records, handling attendance inquiries, and assisting with transfers, benefits and performance appraisals. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field, at least five years’ experience (banking experience is a plus), and solid knowledge of Nigeria Labour Law. The advertised salary is N300,000 per month.

What you would do

• Assist with staff recruitment and notify Head of HR about vacancies
• Shortlist applicants and organise training sessions and workshops
• Keep training records aligned with the annual training plan
• Ensure accurate job descriptions are circulated
• Maintain and update the employee records system
• Arrange induction sessions for new recruits
• Process requests for outside trainings in line with policies
• Monitor attendance and enquire about absences
• File HR documents accurately
• Assist with HR processes such as transfers, benefits and performance appraisals, and reference and certificate checks
