HSE Officer (Solar Projects)

About this role

Aco Nigeria is seeking an HSE Officer to support health, safety and environmental compliance across its Lagos project sites. The role is contract-based for three months and requires immediate resumption. The company focuses on renewable energy solutions, including solar projects, and operates within Lagos with site locations at Ijanikin and Ijegun. The HSE Officer will ensure adherence to company, client and statutory HSE requirements and promote a safe work environment across sites.

What you would do

• Conduct daily site safety inspections, toolbox talks and safety inductions.
• Identify workplace hazards, perform risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and safe working procedures, especially for work at height.
• Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, inspection reports and incident records.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and follow up on corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe working conditions across project sites.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in construction, engineering or technical projects.
• Relevant HSE qualification or certification.
• Valid certification in Working at Height or Scaffolding.
• Good knowledge of risk assessment, site inspections, incident reporting and safety procedures.
• Strong communication, documentation and reporting skills.
• Immediate availability to resume.
• Willingness to work at project locations in Ijanikin and Ijegun, Lagos.
