About this role
HBMS is recruiting an HSE Officer for its Ogun site. The role involves implementing and monitoring HSE policies, conducting inspections and risk assessments, leading safety briefings and supporting incident investigations and emergency drills. Preference will be given to candidates living in Ode Remo or nearby.
What you would do
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures and site safety rules.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Identify hazards and assess risks.
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, safe work procedures and PPE requirements.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness sessions.
- Investigate incidents and near misses.
What they are asking for
- Degree (HND or Bachelor's) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in mining, mineral processing, manufacturing, construction or other industrial settings
- Recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation and workplace safety procedures
- Good knowledge of PPE, emergency response and safe work practices; strong reporting, communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE documentation
- Ability to work effectively in a plant/site environment and engage with employees, contractors and operational teams
