Health, Safety & Environment Assistant

About this role

The role supports Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc in Oyo to ensure compliance with safety and environmental rules and to prevent workplace incidents. It involves identifying hazards, assessing risks, and recommending controls, as well as inspecting environments, equipment and processes for regulatory and standards compliance. What you would do

• Identify workplace hazards and assess associated risks.
• Recommend and implement appropriate control measures.
• Inspect environment, equipment and processes for safety compliance.
• Assist in investigations of incidents, accidents and near misses.
• Contribute to the execution of HSE leading programmes.
• Maintain PPE records and ensure proper PPE use by staff.
• Support environmental permit compliance and waste procedures.
• Coordinate with the site emergency responder team for evacuations.
• Maintain HSE records including permits to work, risk assessments and audit reports.

• OND in Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• 1 to 3 years of cognate experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment.
