Health Safety and Environment Officer
About this role
Role: Health Safety and Environment Officer at AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited in Oyo. What you would do
- Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, and prepare detailed reports.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training for employees and contractors.
- Monitor environmental practices including waste management, chemical handling, pollution prevention, and housekeeping.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- HSE professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (added advantage).
- 4-6 years' experience in HSE, preferably within agriculture, manufacturing, food production, poultry, or a related industrial environment.
- Good knowledge of HSE legislation, risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response.
- Strong communication, reporting, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a farm and industrial environment and conduct regular field inspections.
