Head, Treasury Division
About this role
The role is for a senior professional to lead EBID’s Treasury Division in Lomé, focusing on financial transactions, cash management, risk cover, securities portfolios, borrowings and foreign exchange. It targets candidates with substantial treasury experience and leadership ability who can oversee processes, controls and policies within the bank. EBID is an international financial institution owned by ECOWAS member states, and its objective is to support economic development in West Africa. The position requires strategic guidance to ensure effective treasury management and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
What you would do
- Establish and enforce controls for financial transactions and review records for accuracy and timeliness
- Support and guide staff involved in treasury activities
- Ensure timely payments and accurate capital subscriptions and coordinate with General Accounting for capital calls
- Review and approve payment requests; monitor liquidity and cash flow in line with policies
- Develop and supervise financial risk cover policy and assess/mitigate financial risks
- Monitor and evaluate risk cover policies and recommend enhancements
- Oversee staff workflow within the division and work with them to achieve targets
- Provide training and development opportunities for treasury staff
- Collaborate with other divisions to ensure accurate processing of treasury-related records
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements

- Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years' professional experience in treasury operations, cash management, risk cover and securities portfolio management
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments, liquidity, FX and risk management
- Understanding of international accounting standards and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, interpersonal and team management abilities
- Strategic, results-oriented, with integrity and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; proficient with MS Office applications
- Fluency in French and/or English and/or Portuguese; knowledge of at least one of the other languages
- Be a West African national and not older than 45 years at recruitment
