Head, Research & Commercial Strategy

About this role

A senior role responsible for using research and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities, improve investability of NASD-listed securities, and support issuer origination and new products. Target candidates have extensive experience in Nigerian capital markets and can provide strategic insights to increase trading activity and revenue.

What you would do

• Identify sectors, companies and securities with high potential for admission, capital raising and secondary-market activity
• Develop target lists and investment cases for the Business Development team
• Produce research and market intelligence to support issuer origination and investor engagement
• Build a framework to improve research coverage and investor information on NASD-listed/admitted companies
• Develop standardised issuer profiles covering financial performance, ownership, disclosures, trading history, liquidity and market information
• Track market quality indicators and distinguish recurring liquidity from exceptional blocks to inform management decisions

What they are asking for

• Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification strongly preferred
• 8-12+ years of relevant experience across equity or fixed-income research, investment banking, asset management, securities markets, strategy or capital-market infrastructure
• Deep understanding of Nigerian capital markets, securities, valuation, market structure and investor behaviour
• Strong quantitative and analytical capability with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting insights to senior management, issuers and investors
