Head, Research and Commercial Strategy
About this role
The role leads research and commercial strategy initiatives to identify growth opportunities, improve investability of NASD-listed securities, and support issuer origination and market development in Nigeria. It targets candidates with deep capital markets knowledge and strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
What you would do
- Create standardised issuer profiles with key financial and market data
- Develop target lists and investment cases for the Business Development team
- Identify sectors and securities with high potential for admission, capital raising and secondary activity
- Build commercial cases for new products before major resource commitment
- Differentiate recurring liquidity from block trades for accurate activity insights
- Produce research and market intelligence to support issuer origination and investor engagement and track market quality
What they are asking for
- 8-12+ years of relevant experience in equity or fixed-income research, investment banking, asset management, or capital-market infrastructure
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of Nigerian capital markets, securities and investor behaviour
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior management, issuers and investors
