About this role

Senior leadership role to head Procurement & Vendor Management for Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited in Lagos. The position leads the organisation’s procurement strategy, vendor management and related governance, overseeing planning, sourcing, contracts and supplier performance while partnering with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal and business units to maximise value from supplier engagements.

What you would do

• Lead and execute the procurement and vendor management strategy to deliver cost-effective, compliant sourcing solutions.
• Oversee procurement planning, strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor governance and supplier performance management.
• Manage procurement risk and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
• Lead vendor onboarding and due diligence, manage supplier relationships and maintain the integrity of vendor data and records.
• Oversee competitive bidding and contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Provide leadership to the procurement and vendor management team and collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal and business units.

What they are asking for

• First degree in procurement, economics, management, accounting or related field; master’s degree is an added advantage.
• 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract management, supplier relationship management and procurement operations.
• Strong experience in supplier risk management, regulatory compliance, audit controls and third-party risk management in a financial services or regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience using SAP or other procure-to-pay systems.
• Proven leadership experience managing procurement and vendor management teams and engaging senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal and business functions.
• Knowledge of pension, financial services, asset management or banking industry and relevant regulatory requirements is an added advantage.
