Head, Power Plant

About this role

The Dangote Group seeks a Head of Power Plant in Ogun to oversee the plant’s operations, maintenance and safety. The role involves managing gas supply and major contracts to ensure power generation for the cement plant, and it reports to the Plant Director.

What you would do

• Oversee the operations and maintenance of the power plant in line with operation manuals and company standards.
• Ensure power generation and supply to the cement plant as production requirements.
• Manage gas supply and gas contracts with NGML.
• Manage long-term service contracts with OEMs of gas turbine generators.
• Oversee environmental management and compliance with company policy.
• Oversee procurement of power plant spare parts and ensure alignment with the budget.

What they are asking for

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering with Power option, or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 20 years operating experience in gas turbine based power plants.
• At least 5 years of experience as Head - Power Plant.
• Demonstrated ability to operate gas turbine based power generation plants with high output and efficiency.
• Commercial acumen and experience monitoring and controlling O&M costs, managing contracts and budgets.
• Leadership ability and strong management skills.
