Head, POS Recovery
About this role
The POS Recovery Manager oversees the end-to-end recovery of non-performing POS terminal assets, from risk flagging to physical retrieval, financial settlement, and post-write-off recovery. The role leads a distributed field recovery team across regions and reports to the VP of the POS Channel.
What you would do
- Own the terminal recovery lifecycle, setting escalation speeds and settlement windows based on terminal age, history and recovery economics.
- Ensure every terminal in recovery is assigned, tracked, escalated on schedule, and settled within its gate deadline (recovery, write-off, paid write-off, or insurance claim).
- Design and continuously improve the recovery strategy, covering device collection, swap logistics, agent coordination, external agencies, and asset custody flow.
- Lead and manage a distributed field recovery team across multiple regions, upholding operational discipline and ethical conduct.
- Develop SOPs for all recovery scenarios and create training programmes for recovery agents on terminal identification, evidence collection, GPS and field tools, and escalation protocols.
- Define and monitor recovery KPIs and economics; ensure the programme is self-funding and report monthly on key metrics.
What they are asking for
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in large-scale field operations, logistics, asset recovery, or after-sales service, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience managing distributed field teams across multiple regions in Nigeria.
- Experience managing third-party providers or agency networks under performance-based contracts.
- Direct experience in the Nigerian market with its regulatory and operational realities.
- Preferably background in fintech, telecoms, ecommerce logistics, or other high-volume distributed asset management.
- Preferably experience managing asset recovery at scale (thousands of units per month).
