Head of Strategy
About this role
Maurice Xandra Solutions Limited, a management consulting firm focused on human resources, management and process improvement, is seeking a Head of Strategy. The role reports to executive leadership, the board and portfolio companies to drive growth, improve performance and create long-term shareholder value. It involves leading strategic planning, evaluating investments, guiding portfolio performance, mentoring the strategy team and ensuring alignment with the organisation’s vision. The position is based in Lagos and is a full-time, senior leadership role in the firm’s strategy function.
What you would do
- Support evaluation of new investments and potential divestments
- Build relationships with portfolio-company leaders and external partners
- Present strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board
- Evaluate portfolio performance and develop strategies to optimise returns and manage risks
- Lead the annual strategic planning, execution and performance-monitoring process
- Lead and mentor the Strategy team, promoting high performance and collaboration
- Monitor industry trends, competitors and macroeconomic developments
- Ensure business strategies align with the organisation’s vision and long-term objectives
- Provide hands-on strategic support to underperforming portfolio companies
- Prepare thought-leadership content for investors, regulators and institutional stakeholders

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
- Excellent analytical, financial-modelling and problem-solving skills
- Experience in corporate strategy, investment analysis, portfolio management and business turnaround
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management abilities
- 10–15 years’ experience in a senior strategy role within a holding company, private equity firm or management consulting in Nigeria
