Head of Service Center
About this role
The role is for a Head of Service Center based in Port Harcourt, Rivers. The position oversees all repair activities for compression and other rotating equipment handled by the Service Center, collaborating with regional sales, service project management, supply chain, repair engineering and quality teams. The goal is to deliver best in class repair solutions to support growth, with a strong emphasis on safety, environment and quality. The candidate should be a self-motivated, customer-focused leader responsible for driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction and process improvements within the Service Center. The role reports to the Head of Repair Operations Region Europe & Africa for Compression.
What you would do
- Lead and motivate technicians and service project managers to achieve targets.
- Monitor KPIs to improve lead time, costs and quality.
- Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty based on feedback.
- Coordinate effectively between the Service Center and other departments.
- Develop the capabilities of the operational team to meet needs safely and flexibly.
- Drive safety and process improvement within the area of responsibility.
- Create repeatable service center processes and flows.
- Ensure communication with relevant stakeholders to support operations.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or qualified by experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compressor technology.
- Experience delivering service projects in line with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and API standards.
- Fluency in English and German; additional languages a plus.
- Five or more years in a leadership role dealing with technically complex machines, preferably in aftermarket and repair of rotating equipment.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to visit customers or other service centers/sites.
- Experience in customer-focused environments and managing customer pressure professionally.
- Experience with business improvement initiatives and non-conformance management programs.
