Head of Sales
About this role
A Head of Sales is sought to lead the sales function across channels and territories, partnering with senior leadership to drive revenue growth, market penetration and profitability for a fast-growing food and beverage distribution business. The role is based onsite in Lagos and reports to the CEO/MD and Commercial Director.
What you would do
- Build and strengthen relationships with distributors, key accounts and customers
- Develop growth plans across territories, channels, products, customers and distributors
- Partner with Finance and leadership on revenue, margin, cash flow and profitability
- Provide market intelligence and actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- Establish sales forecasting, planning and performance management systems
- Own sales volume, revenue, distribution and market penetration targets and lead the sales team
What they are asking for
- Demonstrable track record of growing revenue, market share and distribution
- MBA or relevant professional qualification an advantage
- Strong commercial intelligence, analytical ability and leadership capability
- Experience in FMCG, beverage, wine, spirits, food distribution or related sectors
- Proven experience managing multi-territory sales operations
- 8–12+ years of progressive sales/commercial experience and at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
