About this role
The role is for the Head of Projects & Infrastructure at Nextzon Business Services Limited in Enugu. The job is for someone to lead a large integrated capital projects programme, focused on airport and related infrastructure, and to coordinate multiple external partners and regulators. The employer is a management consulting and enterprise development firm that works with SMEs and supports corporate planning, turnaround, and economic development projects. The position involves ensuring designs meet operational needs, managing budgets and risk, and delivering ORAT and handover activities. It requires extensive experience in major infrastructure delivery, with aviation or transport project exposure preferred.
What you would do
- Lead the integrated capital projects programme covering terminal development, refurbishment, airside infrastructure, utilities, roads, power, baggage systems and other CAPEX projects.
- Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, engineers and project partners.
- Oversee project scope, design, programme, cost, quality, risk, approvals and change management.
- Ensure airport operational requirements are incorporated into infrastructure and terminal designs.
- Monitor CAPEX budgets, variations, claims, contractor performance and project progress.
- Coordinate regulatory approvals involving NCAA, FAAN and other authorities.
- Ensure construction within a live airport environment minimises operational disruption.
- Lead testing, commissioning, handover and ORAT activities.
- Provide the MD & CEO with regular project dashboards on progress, cost, risks and decisions required.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 7 - 11 years' experience in major infrastructure/project delivery.
- Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects, consultants and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, contracts, risk and change management.
- Experience managing major CAPEX projects from design through commissioning.
- Strong reporting and senior stakeholder-management skills.
- Preferred: Airport/aviation or major transport infrastructure experience.
- Experience in a live operational environment.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent. Relevant professional accreditation.
- FIDIC or similar contract-management experience.
