Head of Operations
About this role
Proten, an international human capital development firm with offices in London and Lagos, is seeking a Head of Operations to oversee retail, warehouse, production, distribution and facility activities. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, cost control, process improvement and team performance while ensuring adherence to company standards. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and requires leadership of multiple managers and operations teams across sites. The employer provides training, coaching and consulting services to a diverse client base in Europe and Africa.
What you would do
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee retail, warehouse, production, logistics and facility operations.
- Improve processes, productivity, cost efficiency and profitability.
- Manage budgets, inventory, equipment maintenance and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and operational standards.
- Lead and supervise departmental managers and operations teams.
- Monitor performance targets, implement improvements and report to executive management.
- Drive continuous improvement, accountability and efficient resource utilisation.

- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of operations experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience managing multi-site operations across manufacturing, warehousing, retail or distribution.
- Strong knowledge of operational strategy, inventory management, cost control and process improvement.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving and people-management skills.
- Relevant professional certifications; MBA or master's degree is an added advantage.
