Head of Mechanical (Rotating, Static, Lifting & Marine Equipment)

About this role

Head of Mechanical responsible for the technical integrity and maintenance of rotating, static, lifting and marine equipment for a major international Oil & Gas operator's Deepwater Operations team in Nigeria. Based in Lagos, the role is a 12-month renewable contract with a five-day week and an alternative rotation of 12 weeks on / 4 weeks off (subject to client approval).

What you would do

• Lead the development and implementation of mechanical maintenance plans, procedures and strategies.
• Ensure spare parts coverage and optimised stock management to meet reliability targets.
• Review and validate contractor maintenance plans and oversee their execution.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for performance issues.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and asset reliability, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate major maintenance campaigns, shutdowns, overhauls and vendor interventions.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Energy industries.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory, lead or management position.
• Strong technical knowledge of gas turbines, compressors, diesel engines, pumps, static equipment, marine equipment, lifting equipment and rotating machinery.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance strategies, reliability improvement and asset integrity management.
• Experience supporting offshore production assets, FPSOs, offshore platforms or large industrial facilities.
