Head of Mechanical

About this role

Head of Mechanical for SPIE Oil & Gas Services on the AKPO project in Nigeria, based in Plateau. The role covers the technical content and oversight of mechanical maintenance, maintenance plans and spare parts, SAP data accuracy, and coordination with external resources and the Methods Department, while ensuring HSE compliance.

What you would do

• Oversee the technical content of mechanical maintenance and ensure adherence to the Maintenance Policy.
• Review and ensure proper implementation of maintenance plans prepared by Contractors; coordinate with the Methods Department for consolidation.
• Manage spare parts stock and ensure availability; drive improvements for reliability, availability and cost optimisation.
• Act as Technical Administrator for Mechanical Spare Parts; ensure accuracy of data in SAP UNISUP and perform analyses for optimisation.
• Provide technical expertise to address equipment failures and performance losses; conduct technical studies and modification studies as required.
• Mobilise and coordinate external resources (vendors/contractors) for mechanical operations, including scope definition, work oversight and delivery acceptance, in compliance with company rules and HSE standards

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of turbomachinery.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer including 5 in the petrochemical industry.
• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory operational position
