About this role

Head of Legal Operations at Obek Group of Companies Limited in Lagos. This role leads the four‑person Legal Services team, manages contract risk, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and disputes end‑to‑end, and runs the legal function as a chargeable profit centre to speed up deal signings while protecting the group’s licence to operate.

What you would do

• Oversee contract risk management and end‑to‑end legal processes for the Group
• Manage regulatory compliance, corporate governance and disputes
• Run the Legal Services ME as a profit centre with charge‑out pricing
• Establish and monitor core processes, KPIs and cost controls for the legal function
• Lead and develop a team of three officers to high performance levels
• Ensure comprehensive record keeping, governance and compliance with policies and statutory requirements

What they are asking for

• Senior level Nigerian law practice knowledge: contract, corporate/commercial, energy and construction law
• Experience with EPCIC contract structures (FIDIC/NEC), subcontract flow‑downs, JV/consortia and SPV agreements
• Company secretarial practice under CAMA 2020 (board machinery, statutory books, CAC processes)
• Familiarity with regulatory bodies (NUPRC, NMDPRA, NCDMB, NIPEX/NJQS, NDPA 2023, FCCPC) and public‑sector contracting in Nigerian states
• Disputes strategy experience: negotiation, mediation, arbitration and Nigerian litigation
• Profit‑centre management skills: pricing, SLA charge‑out, external counsel panel management
