Head of Finance & Capital Strategy

This role is for a Head of Finance and Capital Strategy based in Abuja, reporting to the Managing Director/CEO with board-level involvement as required. The position oversees financial planning, treasury, budgeting, management reporting, controls and funding readiness to support liquidity, financial performance and fundraising for business expansion. What you would do
- Lead budgeting and financial forecasting
- Monitor liquidity, working capital and funding needs
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial dashboards
- Strengthen financial controls and expenditure management
- Coordinate statutory filings, taxation, audits and reporting
- Develop financial models, business cases and investment analyses
- Prepare investor presentations and due diligence documents for fundraising
- Identify funding sources and support financing negotiations
- Ensure accurate accounting records in collaboration with the Financial Controller
- Provide insights on financial risks, growth opportunities and resource allocation
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Approximately 5–8 years of relevant finance experience in senior roles
- Experience in fintech, banking, financial services, lending or related environment an advantage
- Strong budgeting, cash-flow management, financial reporting, modelling and internal controls
- Exposure to fundraising or corporate finance transactions desirable
- Good understanding of IFRS, taxation and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- High integrity and ability to work independently in a growing business
