Head of Engineering, Rewards

About this role

Moniepoint is seeking a Head of Engineering, Rewards to own the end-to-end technical strategy for the Rewards Platform and lead the team as it expands cashback into a full rewards, retention and personalisation product for business customers, consumer customers and sales agents. The role operates under a Domain CTO model, with functional reporting to the Group CTO and a dual line to the Rewards product leader.

What you would do

• Own the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Rewards Platform end to end.
• Improve the performance, reliability and depth of the cashback product as the immediate priority.
• Evolve cashback into a broader rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform for business, consumer and sales agents.
• Structure and lead the engineering organisation by creating product units and hiring Engineering Managers and guiding the team through them.
• Establish an experimentation culture with A/B testing, cohort analysis and measurement to drive product decisions.
• Own the customer-facing rewards experience across mobile and web, and build the platform to serve customers across multiple geographies.

• Strong front-end and mobile depth; experience leading consumer-facing mobile and web experiences.
• Proven experience with experimentation, A/B testing, feature flags and measurement frameworks to drive product decisions.
• At least 5 years of experience managing managers and leading an engineering organisation through growth.
• Hands-on technical leadership with ongoing coding involvement and credibility with engineers.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth; comfortable with Java and Spring Boot backend and able to lead backend engineers credibly.
