Head of City Utilities

About this role

A senior role to lead and manage city-scale utilities (water, power, gas, telecom and ICT) for Alaro City in Lagos. The position collaborates with the Construction & Delivery team and Rendeavour management to develop and oversee the utilities business across operations, budgeting, policy, and compliance.

What you would do

• Define and execute the utility business model for city-scale operations.
• Manage budgeting, planning, development, policy creation and implementation for utilities.
• Oversee operations and maintenance of utilities infrastructure.
• Lead contract preparation and implementation for utilities projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, regulatory bodies, consultants and customers.
• Prepare regular reports on utilities status and ensure regulatory deadlines and quality standards are met.

What they are asking for

• Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in engineering or utility infrastructure.
• Experience in construction, operation and maintenance of utilities infrastructure; including electricity, water, gas and sewage treatment.
• Experience with the commercial aspects of utility sales and project management skills.
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus; leadership experience in engineering or construction is a major plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to stakeholders; experience negotiating with stakeholders.
• Experience working with regulatory bodies or government agencies.
