What you would do

• Oversee daily accounting operations and financial transactions of the university.
• Prepare, review and maintain financial statements, reports and accounting records.
• Monitor income, expenditure and budget performance.
• Ensure timely bank reconciliations and proper documentation of financial transactions.
• Maintain internal controls and support compliance with financial and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure proper financial record-keeping.
• Supervise the Accounts Unit and provide periodic financial reports to Management.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• ICAN or ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting and bank reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• High standards of integrity, accountability, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
