Head, Mines Operation
About this role
The Dangote Group is seeking an experienced Head, Mines Operation to lead and manage large-scale mining activities. Based in Kogi, the role requires strategic leadership to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction of raw materials to support plant production and meet quality requirements.
What you would do
- Provide strategic leadership for all mining operations
- Develop and implement short- and long-term mine plans to achieve production objectives
- Ensure continuous supply of raw materials while maintaining quality standards
- Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, haulage and material handling activities
- Monitor mining performance against approved budgets, production targets and KPIs
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, supervisors, technicians, operators and contractors
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production Engineering or related discipline
- Relevant professional certifications and memberships will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 25 years’ progressive experience in mining operations
- Proven experience managing large-scale open-pit mining operations
- Demonstrated success in mine planning, production management and operational leadership
- Experience within the cement, quarrying, mining or heavy industrial sector is highly desirable
