Head, Medical Records (Kaduna)

About this role

The Head, Medical Records role is based in Kaduna for Dragnet Nigeria and leads the medical/health records function, ensuring accurate, confidential and accessible health information to support clinical care, governance and managed‑care processes. It is aimed at a senior health information management professional with substantial post‑registration and supervisory experience.

What you would do

• Maintain accurate, complete and confidential patient health records.
• Manage records workflows including registration, retrieval, filing, coding and retention.
• Ensure confidentiality and data protection in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and internal policies.
• Support clinical care, billing, managed-care and reporting through timely records provision.
• Lead, supervise and appraise records staff and set records standards.
• Contribute to data quality, audit and service improvement.

• Minimum of 8 years post-registration experience in health information/records management, including supervisory experience.
• Substantial post-registration experience in health records management, including senior or supervisory level.
• Demonstrable experience leading or coordinating a health records management team.
• Experience in service organisation, quality assurance and staff supervision/appraisal.
• A recognised qualification in health information management/health records (e.g. BSc Health Information Management, HND/Diploma in Health Records).
• Completion of internship/registration training and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
