Head, Legal and Compliance/Company Secretary

About this role

Refin Homes Limited in Lagos seeks a Head of Legal and Compliance/Company Secretary. The role leads the Legal and Compliance unit, reports to the Managing Partner, and acts as the main contact for legal and compliance matters, advising the Board and Management and ensuring regulatory compliance and company secretarial duties. Experience in real estate is an advantage.

What you would do

• Provide legal counsel to the Board, Management and staff on all pertinent issues and support legal strategy
• Orchestrate board meetings, prepare board papers and minutes, maintain statutory documents, and act as liaison between Board and Management, including annual reports
• Monitor regulatory compliance and liaise with regulatory bodies
• Oversee litigation; coordinate with external solicitors; represent the company in court or with enforcement authorities when necessary
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts including Joint Venture Agreements, Service Level Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and other commercial contracts
• Handle property law matters including land, title, search documentation, and perfection processes
