Head, Internal Control & Audit (ICA)
About this role
Rockmould Limited is seeking an experienced Head of Internal Control & Audit to lead the internal control, risk and audit functions in Lagos. The role targets candidates with strong leadership in internal audit and risk management, preferably with experience in construction or project-based sectors. The organisation operates in construction and real estate and seeks to strengthen control systems, policies and procedures across all departments. The position is full-time and involves managing the ICA/risks team and reporting to management and the board.
What you would do
- Develop and implement a risk-based annual internal audit plan.
- Design, review and strengthen internal control systems, policies and procedures across all departments.
- Audit project costs, procurement, inventory, payroll, payments and contracts for compliance and value for money.
- Identify, assess and monitor operational, financial and compliance risks; recommend mitigations.
- Conduct special reviews and investigations into irregularities or fraud.
- Track management actions on audit findings and ensure implementation.
- Present audit reports and recommendations to Management and the Board.
- Lead, supervise and develop the Internal Control & Risk and Internal Audit / Business Assurance team.
What they are asking for
- B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Professional qualification required: ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA or equivalent.
- 8–10 years’ experience in internal audit, internal control or risk management; at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in construction, real estate or project-based business is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g. COSO), audit standards and risk management practices.
- Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.
- High integrity, independence and sound judgement.
