About this role
The Head of Innovation Hubs will design and run three university-based hubs in Nigeria (at Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Nigeria Nsukka and Ahmadu Bello University), creating a cross-disciplinary, industry-connected programme for students in software, AI, product, data science, robotics and design. The role involves building the operating model, managing university and industry relationships, and shaping the pipeline from hub graduates into Moniepoint and the wider tech sector.
What you would do
- Design the operating model for all three hubs from the ground up, including cohort structure, learning sequencing, and assessment and certification standards.
- Serve as the primary relationship owner with the universities’ leadership to manage institutional partnerships.
- Develop a cross-faculty engagement model to attract and retain students from all faculties throughout the cohorts.
- Build and manage an industry and mentorship network to mentor, assess and hire from the hubs.
- Design the facilitator model, recruit educators, and establish a uniform standard across hubs.
- Oversee hub infrastructure and operations, including footprint, timelines, vendors, budgets, and staffing.
What they are asking for
- 10+ years of experience overall, with at least 5 in leadership roles overseeing programmes, teams and budgets end to end.
- Experience building or leading a technical training or workforce development programme at scale, ideally across multiple sites.
- Experience managing senior-level institutional relationships with universities, government bodies, and industry partners, including familiarity with Nigerian university administration.
- Understanding of what good engineering education looks like and what software, AI, product and data science employers hire for; ability to design hireable programmes without coding requirements.
- Rigorous about outcomes with a track record of measurable impact and delivery.
- Experience in edtech, developer education, university–industry partnerships, or workforce development, and building something from scratch to measurable outcomes.
