About this role

The role leads the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) function at the plant level for a Lagos-based petroleum products and LPG distributor. The job involves creating and implementing safety, health, environmental and emergency response strategies in line with ISO standards and regulatory requirements. It targets experienced HSE professionals with leadership experience in the oil and gas downstream sector. The employer operates a private limited company that sources products through direct imports or partnerships and focuses on distribution activities.

What you would do

• Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZID, JSA) for storage, filling line, truck dispatch and maintenance.
• Manage plant regulatory licenses and statutory compliance with NMDPRA, NOSDRA, NESREA, SON and Fire Service.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Organise emergency response drills and environmental stewardship initiatives.
• Supervise the EHS Officers team and promote a safety culture among staff and contractors.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, Safety or related field (master’s degree an advantage).
• Minimum 10–12 years of HSE experience in oil and gas or downstream petroleum.
• 4–5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Mandatory NEBOSH IGC or Diploma and IOSH membership.
• ISPON/FMESD registration preferred.
