What you would do

• Develop and implement the organisation's energy sourcing strategy, focusing on coal procurement.
• Identify, evaluate and select reliable coal suppliers and negotiate contracts and terms.
• Ensure timely delivery of coal meeting quality specifications to support production.
• Monitor market trends, prices and supply conditions affecting cost and availability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and optimise procurement and inventory.
• Evaluate opportunities for alternative fuels and energy inputs.
• Benchmark costs and terms against market indicators for value improvement.
• Manage vendor contracts, renewals, disputes and performance plans.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure supply reliability and compliance.
• Coordinate regulatory and governance matters with Legal, Finance and Compliance teams.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Logistics).
• Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or Supply Chain is an advantage.
• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS) is desirable.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing or energy supply, with leadership experience.
• Experience in coal procurement, mining, energy, cement manufacturing or similar heavy industry.
• Proven track record in supplier management, complex negotiations, contract management and cost optimisation.
• Experience engaging with government agencies and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of procurement governance, risk management, regulatory compliance and market intelligence.
• Ability to lead teams and deliver measurable commercial and operational results.
