Head, Compliance & Risk

About this role

Westfield Consulting seeks a Head of Compliance & Risk to safeguard the organisation from regulatory, operational, financial and reputational risks and to ensure compliance with Nigerian and international standards. The role combines strategic leadership, regulatory oversight and enterprise risk management to protect business continuity. It is aimed at an experienced professional with a background in compliance, risk or legal roles and leadership experience in the Oil & Gas sector.

What you would do

• Ensure adherence to Nigerian petroleum regulations and environmental laws, and waste management standards.
• Oversee compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and NDPR data protection requirements.
• Maintain relationships with regulators (CAC, FIRS, PENCOM, NSITF, EFCC-SCUML).
• Advise the Board and executive leadership on compliance and governance matters.
• Lead risk management, including business continuity planning and crisis management.
• Conduct internal audits across financial, operational, IT and compliance areas.

What they are asking for

• Degree in LL.B/B.L (Nigerian Bar); MBA/LL.M preferred.
• 10 to 15 years' experience in compliance, risk or legal roles, with at least 3 to 5 years in leadership in the Oil & Gas sector.
• ICSAN (Chartered Secretary), CIArb (Arbitration), and other risk management certifications.
• Strong skills in corporate law, environmental compliance, contract risk, governance, leadership and audit frameworks.
