About this role
A Head of Business Operations is sought to provide strategic and operational leadership across the company’s technical and business development functions, including EPC services, manpower sourcing, and CNG retail operations. The role oversees EPC projects from bidding through execution and handover, and also leads manpower solutions for upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas activities. The position aims to drive business growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen client relationships for Smart Partners in Lagos. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in EPC project delivery and technical operations within the oil and gas sector. The company focuses on engineering, procurement, construction, and related services with a governance framework emphasizing HSE and compliance.
What you would do
- Develop and implement the company’s technical strategy aligned with business goals.
- Provide technical direction for engineering design, procurement, construction and commissioning of EPC projects.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in technical operations.
- Oversee EPC bidding, tender preparation, negotiation and proposals.
- Lead end-to-end EPC project lifecycle from design to commissioning.
- Ensure delivery within scope, budget, timelines and quality standards.
- Manage contract administration, risk and regulatory compliance.
- Direct recruitment, training and deployment of technical personnel.
- Maintain competency frameworks and build client relationships via manpower solutions.
- Lead establishment and operation of CNG refuelling stations and vehicle conversion operations.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, Civil or related).
- Master’s degree, MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
- Minimum 12 years in EPC project delivery, technical operations or oil and gas, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven technical leadership, business development and contract acquisition experience across manpower, engineering, procurement and construction.
- Strong knowledge of local and international oil and gas codes and regulations.
- Professional certifications such as COREN, PMP or CEng are desirable.
