Hatchery Supervisor

What you would do
- Identify and fix hatchery machine faults or report them promptly
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of hatchery equipment
- Work independently to manage hatchery performance
- Keep records of eggs set, fertility, embryonic mortality, hatch rates, chick output and machine performance
- Supervise hatchery staff, assign duties, monitor attendance and enforce discipline
- Operate and monitor Emka, Petersime, VET 7 and other hatchery machines
- Monitor incubation temperature, humidity, ventilation and egg-turning parameters
- Control costs, reduce wastage and improve production efficiency
- Ensure compliance with biosecurity, hygiene, sanitation and safety standards
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports

- Strong leadership, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills

- Knowledge of incubation, candling, egg transfer, hatching and chick processing
- 3–5 years of practical hatchery experience, preferably in a supervisory role
- qualification in Animal Science, Animal Production, Veterinary Medicine or related field is an advantage
