Group Head, Treasury & Financial Institutions
About this role
The Group Head, Treasury & Financial Institutions will lead the Bridgemead Consulting group’s treasury function across its steel manufacturing, mining and energy businesses. The role reports to the Group Executive Director, Finance and is based in Lagos, focusing on treasury strategy, liquidity management, FX, trade finance, banking relationships, risk management and governance to support growth and financial sustainability.
What you would do
- Develop and implement the group treasury strategy, policies and governance framework
- Oversee daily liquidity management, cash positioning, working capital, intercompany funding and rolling cash flow forecasts across subsidiaries
- Manage foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies in line with regulatory requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, DFIs and other financial partners; negotiate credit facilities and trade finance arrangements
- Monitor treasury risks and oversee investment of surplus cash within approved guidelines
- Oversee treasury systems, controls, reconciliations and reporting; lead and develop the treasury team
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- MBA or Master's degree is an added advantage
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CTP or ACT (mandatory)
- 12–18 years of experience in treasury, corporate banking or financial risk management, including at least 5 years in a senior treasury leadership role
- Experience in large manufacturing, mining, energy, oil and gas or industrial organisations or leading financial institutions
- Strong expertise in treasury management, liquidity planning, FX management, trade finance, debt management and treasury risk management; hands-on with Treasury Management Systems and multi-currency operations; knowledge of CBN/FMDQ frameworks
